1990 Interns with the guru of fashion, Rohit Bal, while studying at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi.
1991 Graduates from NIFT and continues training with Rohit Bal. launches his own label, Ashish N Soni, and begins retailing from the then very popular store, Mutiny.
1991 Expands the label to retail in Ffolio Bangalore and Ensemble Mumbai.
1992 Held a model search event, ‘Looking for lookers’, which creates many new stars on the Indian ramp.
1993 Becomes the first Indian designer to have a solo fashion show in India.
1994 Has his Fall/Winter show broadcast live on Doordarshan 2. Launches the first ever exclusive Ashish Soni Store and Studio in Greater Kailash 2, New Delhi.
1995 Starts styling Shah Rukh Khan for his Mayur Ad campaigns.
1996 Collaborates with PVR cinemas to create their employee uniforms.
1997 Designs uniforms for The Club at the Hyatt regency, New Delhi.
1998 Becomes a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India and plays a strategic role in pioneering its creation. Dedicates his annual solo show to the cause of AIDS.
1999 launches his ready-to-wear label, AS. Collaborates with BMW India to launch their roadster Z3 at his fashion show.
2000 The Government of India requests Ashish Soni to present his collection at the Khajuraho Temples as part of the 2000 year anniversary celebrations.
Participates in the first ever India Fashion Week, held in New Delhi.
Presents his first Couture Womenswear show at the French Cultural
Centre in New Delhi.
2001 Presents his Couture Womenswear show at the French Embassy, New Delhi.
Styles and designs clothes for Gwen Stefani and her band, No Doubt, for their performance at the MTV Awards India.
2002 Participates in the london Fashion Week exhibition and Tranoi in Paris.
2003 launches the Ashish N Soni label internationally at the much acclaimed store, Selfridges, in London.
2004 receives an invitation from CFDA New york to present his collection at New york Fashion Week after the Executive Director, Fern Mallis, views his much applauded collection, Sounds of Silence.
2005 Becomes the first Indian designer to officially show at New York Fashion Week with his Spring/Summer 06 collection. In her post show article, Suzy Menkes describes him as, “New york’s new discovery.”
Incredible India partners with Ashish for the show and calls him “an Incredible India flag bearer.”
2006 Shows Spring/Summer 07 collection at New york Fashion Week.

2008 Presents his Fall/Winter 2008 Womenswear collection at the Grand Finale at Wills India Fashion week where Katrina Kaif walks the ramp.

The Graduate School of Business at Stanford University invites him to present to 35 of their MBA students.
2010 Presents his Spring/Summer 2010 menswear collection at the Grand Finale for the first Wills Mens Fashion week where Salman Khan walks the ramp.

Receives the GQ Designer of the year Award in Mumbai.
Designs the Chivas regal 18 Special Edition packaging for the

2011 Is appointed Creative Director for the launch of the International fashion label, Vanessa G, at London’s Whitehall Banqueting hall.

2012 Celebrates his label’s 20th anniversary at the Aman in Delhi with a retrospective, ABSOLUT Soni:20 years in Fashion.
